Each and every basket that arrives at our Canadian "Headquarters" (an abandoned service station in BC’s Slocan Valley, with a phone jack, a couple of planks of wood for a desk and the odd bare light bulb swinging in the breeze) is checked closely, through a trained eye, for damage sustained during shipping. Those that don‘t pass muster are put aside and they sit; and sit-burnin‘ for your love and attention.
Most of the time the damage is very slight, for example; the leather on the handles might be slightly loose. Sometimes a few of the spines might be broken. The wine loop might have come apart or the coil (rim) is unraveled slightly. Small beer, right? Indeed! Bargain hunters unite and dance with mirth and glee for Paradise has unfolded!
